Saturday 21st August 2010 Meet R.M.Y.C Broken Bay at 12:30 in the Restaurant for lunch followed by a 3 hour cruise in Tom Thumb III to show the guests the Hacking River. Ferry pickup at R.M.Y.C at 2pm. We will be showing Broken Bay our part of the world and the venues we have visited with our cruising group. The Tom Thumb is fully licensed. The R.M.Y.C Broken Bay would like to reciprocate latter in the year. Port Hacking Scenic Cruises (Christine 95232990) Our plan is to have Jim take us to some of our cruising venues and for us to provide our guest with a commentary of value to cruising yachts. A complimentary morning tea is provided during the three hour cruise.
From R.M.Y.C Broken Bay Due to complexities in making the ferry cruise arrangements for this event, the date has been changed from that on the annual schedule to Saturday 21 August. I appreciate that this coincides with the Election Day, but there will be plenty of time to vote prior to the event – as it is said “vote early and vote often”. Recently poor weather conditions have denied us the opportunity to complete a scheduled cruise to Port Hacking, so it was thought that this would be an appropriate destination for the August “Land Event”. This will enable us to have a look at Port Hacking with a view to cruising there at some later time. Contact has been made with our counterparts at R.M.Y.C Toronto and the following has been arranged. 12:30 Lunch at R.M.Y.C Port Hacking in their restaurant. This is similar in style and prices to our Club Brasserie. 14:00 Pick up at the R.M.Y.C wharf by the MV Tom Thumb for a 3 hour cruise to the upper reaches of Port Hacking. With any luck and tide permitting we may be able to get up as far as the Audley Weir in the Royal National Park. There is a $25 per head charge for this. 17:00 Return to R.M.Y.C. The skipper of the Tom Thumb is a member of the R.M.Y.C Port Hacking Sailing Division and he will be able to give us a commentary of points of interest for a future cruises. Other members of the R.M.Y.C sailing division may be present at the lunch and/or cruise and this will be a good opportunity to get to know them Those members interested in participating on the above event, could you please let me know by Monday 2nd August so as bookings for lunch and ferry cruise can be firmed up. Also there will be the opportunity to perhaps arrange some car pooling between us for the drive down and back. Alan Pearce, Officer of the Day 0417 212 949
